Marisela Rodríguez-Salvador received a PhD degree in business management from Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Spain in 1999. She is responsible of the Competitive Technology Intelligence for Innovation research unit that she established in 2001 in Tecnológico de Monterrey. Dr. Rodríguez belongs to the pioneer groups in the field in Ibero-America. She has several national and international awards. In 2004 she represented Mexico at WIPO and WTO in Switzerland.

Dr. Rodríguez is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of Mexico (level 2). In 2010 she became the first woman at Tecnológico de Monterrey that belongs to the Mexican Academy of Sciences.  Additionally, she is the only professor in Mexico that is certified as a Competitive Intelligence Professional (CIP™), USA. She has published more than 100 articles in top journals and proceedings.

She has been guest professor in Spain and Sweden. In August of 2015 she became the first Mexican accepted as an academic visitor at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, University of Manchester (UK) where she spent one year. In 2012 she became full professor and the Tecnológico de Monterrey ratified this position in 2017. Currently, she belongs to the Center for Innovation in Design and Technology.
