Juan A. Nolazco Flores, Ph.D.

Research Areas:

Dr. Nolazco was awarded with a BSc in Electronic System, and a MSc in Control Engineering from ITESM (Tecnológico de Monterrey), campus Monterrey; and with a M.Phil. y Ph.D. from the University de Cambridge, England. At present, he is the School of Engineering’s Associate Dean for the Electronic and Information Technology Area, at the ITESM, Mexico. He has been accepted as regular member of the Mexican Academy of Computer Science, the Mexican Academy of Engineering, the Mexican Academy of Science and the Mexican Research System. He is also “IEEE/ACM Senior Member”. He is also certified by ABET to evaluate academic programs. Dr. Nolazco was awarded in 2005 and 2009 the ITESM Teaching and Research award,. He has published more than 40 papers, with more than 200 cites (87 cites in Scopus). Dr. Nolazco has been invited to review papers in “IEEE Transaction on Speech Recognition”, “Speech Communications”, “Computación y Sistemas” and “Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement and Control”.  He also has been invited as Program Committee member in international conferences, such as: International Conference on Acoustic Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), Global Signal and Information Processing (SIP), Speech and Language Technology (SLT), Ibero-American Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IBERAMiA); International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO), and others. He has been invited as research scholar at Marburg University and Mannheim University, Germany; Carnegie Mellon University, USA; Zaragoza University, Spain; and Cambridge University, England. Dr. has developed financed project from different sources including companies such as Google, NIC México, ASU-ITESM, METALSA, RENAPO, CEMEX, AEROMEXICO and CONACyT
