  • Soft computing for heuristic generation for optimization and combinatorial problems and algorithms for pattern recognition to identify relations between problem features and solution methods.

José Carlos Ortiz Bayliss holds a BsC in Computer Engineering from Universidad Tecnologica de la Mixteca in 2005; a MsC in Intelligent Systems from Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2008; and a PhD in Intelligent Systems from Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2011. Dr. Ortiz-Bayliss is a Research Professor at the School of Engineering and Sciences. He is a member of the National System of Researchers and the Mexican Academy of Computing. He has published more than 25 research articles in international journals and conferences.
