José Antonio Otero Hernández, Ph.D.

  • Modeling and simulation of problems in science and engineering.

José A. Otero received a degree in physics in 1991 and MSc in Physics in 1996 from the University of Havana. He was awarded his PhD in Physics from the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics in 2003. He has published over 100 scientific papers in journals, proceedings and technical reports. He has presented more than 100 works in scientific events. Research fields are related to the modeling and simulation of problems in science and engineering, such as: wave propagation in elastic, piezoelectric and magneto-electro-elastic materials; effective properties of composite materials; nano-composites; phases change material and moving boundary problems.
