Grissel Trujillo de Santiago received her B.S. degree (summa cum laude) in Biological and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico in 2008. She obtained a M.Sc. degree (summa cum laude) in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009, and a Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the same University in 2014. From 2014 to 2016 she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dr. Khademhosseini’s Lab, Division of Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology, Cambridge M.A.

Recently (2017), Grissel Trujillo de Santiago was appointed as Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She is a member of the Claustro of the Graduate Programs on Biotechnology and Nanotechnology. She is member of the Mexican Research National System (level 1) and of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). She has published more than twenty papers in Indexed International Journals, one book chapter and was recently granted with a Mexican patent and multiple participations in National and International Conferences.

Grissel Trujillo de Santiago has conducted research in the areas of Biomaterials, 3D Bioprinting, Microfabrication and Microfluidics, Tissue Engineering, Mathematical Models and Food Technology. Her on-going projects reside in the area micro- and nano-manufacture driven by flows, cancer-on-a-chip and point of care devices. She sustains collaborations with international colleagues in different prestigious University around the world: Harvard, MIT, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Northeastern University, Politecnico di Torino, The Sydney University and University of Nebrazka.
