Edgar Emmanuel Vallejo Clemente holds a BA in Informatics from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico (1992); MSc in Computer Science from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico (1994); PhD in Computer Science from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Cuernavaca (2000); and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA (2003-2004). Dr. Vallejo is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, affiliated to the Bioinformatics Research Program. He is a member of the National System of Researchers since 2003.  He has been co-principal investigator of projects funded by CONACYT, UC MEXUS, US NSF and Microsoft, among others. He has co-authored more than 30 research articles in international journals and conferences. He has supervised 4 PhD dissertations and more than 20 Master Thesis. He has been awarded with the Romulo Garza Award for the most cited paper in 2016 from the Tecnologico de Monterrey, and with the Google Research Awards for Latin America in 2016 and 2017, from Google.
